It's a Good Life

Waking up to this sweet face every day. She sleeps in a pile of blankets, surrounded by her toys.  Morning pages is how I begin my day. A candle. Quiet. My notebook and me. What a way to begin the day.  We take a walk. Every day when I walk Bella, I call my mom. It's a chance for us to chat about life. Getting to talk to my mom every day is such a gift and I treasure it.  The sky humbles me with the overwhelming sunrise.  Coffee. Really? Do I need any explanation?  A quick snuggle with Bella before the day begins. This is rare, but she leapt into the chair. That's a reason to stop for a moment. My dog teaches me such important lessons about life.  B-AM News. This is how each day begins. My communications classes create a daily news show. It rocks. They rock. I LOVE it! Our class mantra. Every day it's written on the board for all to see. We live this.  After a lo...

A Blog Post in Pictures...Holiday Family Edition

Time spent with family is good for the soul... Here they come! I love getting to meet the bus, especially on the day of my arrival! Intense concentration going on here! Auntie tried to braid her hair...this is my second or third try.  Wrigley gets so excited he leaps onto the bay window to see who's coming! Hard to get him into pictures this year, so I'm happy to get this one! Last day of school selfie!  I swear, I have more family here, but I adore my time being an auntie. More family pics coming soon. I hope you get a chance to enjoy time with your family this holiday season.

Photo Challenge

Over on Facebook and Instagram, there's a photo challenge going on. I love taking pictures and noticing things around me. It felt like it took forever for me to be challenged, but my friend, Jennifer , finally tagged me... And so I began the challenge, here are my first six pictures... One day at a time, I challenged my family. My sister and cousin jumped onto the challenge immediately. I love this picture! It's my sister's first stuffed animal and my niece's favorite stuffed animal sitting together... My mom and one of my aunts really wanted to join in but didn't know how to make pictures black and white. Once they figured it out, they were off! Here are some of their photos...   My other aunt resisted because she had no idea what to do. Her actual words were, "You know I am incapable of this. What do I do?" With just a little help from me and my cousin, she started the challenge. I love seeing how others see the world ...

A Week of Celebrations in Photographs

Time is at a premium as the school year draws to a close. Celebrations are easily missed, so I tried to collect  celebrations this week in pictures... Recess. Extra recess this week. What's better than recess? Bubbles at recess! We played and chased and giggled with the bubbles! Sick day this week. No voice. Sore throat. Exhaustion. What's the cure? Popsicles of course, the purple ones are the best!  National Notebook Day was this week!  We celebrated with some  extra writing time in our notebooks.   Time to write in the middle of the chaos of testing and wrapping up the school year. The moments of notebook time bring us peace and give us time to breathe!     Storytime in communications. We completed our debates and as a transition into our next unit, I asked students to grab pictures books. The room transformed. Students begging to read aloud their favorite from my collection (some brought in their own)...
