Celebration

Thank you to Ruth Ayres for weekly celebrations.  Please join us over at Ruth's blog

I'm writing this wrapped up in a blanket with a yummy cup of coffee and Bella sitting by my feet feeling so grateful for a lazy Saturday morning.
Brisk autumn temperatures with a shining blue sky makes me feel like everything is right in the world.

I celebrate being a connected educator. This week with colleagues, Mike & JB, we facilitated the first Twitter Chat for our county!

It was amazing. Have you ever started something new? We wondered if it would be just the three of us tweeting back and forth. It wasn't! The archive had over seven hundred tweets! I love the energy and ideas and connections made during a twitter chat. I'm grateful for those who attended and I celebrate the risk of those teachers who tweeted for the first time that night. When I think of teachers, that's what I see...people taking risks, collaborating, celebrating and being the best they can be for their students!

I celebrate more connections. NCTE and ALAN are coming up quickly! I can't wait to connect with my PLN in real life! My substitute is arranged, plans are being made, Bella is staying at a kennel...I can't wait! I'm volunteering at registration. If you see me there, please say hello!

I celebrate friends. The ones I see everyday who give me hugs and support for those daily things. The ones I see less often who continue to influence my life. Today I get a chance to spend time with a friend that I don't get to see enough. We were roommates for awhile and now life has taken us in different directions, but she remains important to me. I celebrate the richness and love that my friends bring to my life!

  1. I had a lazy morning, too, so welcomed! I am off soon to a brisk walk with my companion, Charlie. Love hearing about your celebrations and successes with Twitter. I have yet to brave this but want to with DigiLit Sunday. Some day.... Maybe you can give me courage. I hope we meet at NCTE. Will you be at the award presentation on Thursday?

  5. Wonderful starting up something new! So brave and fulfilling. Risk is scary but addicting once your fears are unfounded. Your risk has provided so much for others...paying it forward. Love all you do and share with the world.

  9. Congrats on the Twitter chat! This sounds great! I'm only slightly jealous of all my PLN going to NCTE. And I'm so slow, but I wanted to thank you for the recommendation for Spiritual Journey Thursdays! I'll be checking that out for sure! Thank you!
