Celebrating Small
Thank you to Ruth Ayres for the opportunity to focus on celebrations every week! September 19 will mark our 100th celebration! Please join us!
Today I am celebrating small moments that make up my life! This upcoming week is a week of transition...from summer back to work...so I want to focus on the small moments that bring joy.
Notebook writing! I have made a commitment to post a notebook page online everyday.
I want to make my writing open and model my life as a writer for my students. Join me!! I'm using the hashtag #sharingournotebooks right now. I may use another one...haven't decided yet. On the days when my writing is private and I don't want the world to see, I'll Waterlogue it.
I celebrate my notebook writing!
I celebrate my Saturday morning writing group. Leigh Anne Eck and Jennifer Laffin and I meet Saturday mornings (via Google Hangout.) I love that we picked mornings because we aren't night people! We share struggles and successes. We share ideas and places we'd like to write. We come from different places and we teach in different schools and we write about different things, but our Saturday mornings are a time to share and support and laugh and encourage. I'm honored to write with these smart & talented women!
Here are more small celebrations that made up my week...
I celebrate a wonderful new place to board Bella.
I celebrate new recipes.
I celebrate surprises of kind words!
Wishing you many small moments of celebration this week!
Michelle, I am in awe of your notebook. You, Penny Kittle, and Shawna Coppola are my notebook mentors. I want to be just like y'all! :)
ReplyDeleteThe noodle dish looks yummy. I'm always impressed by other people's notebooks.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to having MANY notebook pages to share once I start reading aloud and thinking aloud and then writing about this reading in a notebook. it is what I worked on this summer (your daily posting is inspiring!!) and a personal goal I set for myself as a new school year begins. I'll be sure to share with you and continue to learn with you.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Beth! I want to have a notebook just like yours! With art and words! Or words that are art!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a very fulfilling first week back to work. It was a pleasure to look at the variety of things you have to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteSo brave of you to share your notebook. What has inspired you to do that? I'm excited you have a great writing group. Would love to drop in occasionally if you would have me.
ReplyDeleteLove that sparkle gram! What a fun writing group. Your notebook writing is absolutely beautiful - it inspires me to see other folk's notebooks. Also glad that you found a new boarding place for Bella!
