Believe
Thank you to Holly for the opportunity to write and reflect and share my spiritual journey. Join us here!
It's been a long time since I've blogged about my spiritual journey. I'm so glad to be back. This series of posts is about our One Little Words for the year 2016 and how they will guide and impact our spiritual lives. Today we write about BELIEVE. This is Carol Varsolana's word. Join us, please!
BELIEVE. This word is powerful. Declarative. I believe...in what? This past year has been a year of growth for me in my spiritual journey. I haven't blogged here for months and looking back, I needed some time and space to struggle and figure out what I BELIEVE. It's a journey, but here's what I BELIEVE today.
I BELIEVE in God.
I BELIEVE in love and kindness.
I BELIEVE in forgiveness and grace.
I BELIEVE we are all made with God's love.
I BELIEVE God wants the best for everyone.
I BELIEVE that hugs are healing.
I BELIEVE kind words change lives.
I BELIEVE in prayer and singing.
I BELIEVE in gratitude.
I BELIEVE that I am loved.
I BELIEVE that you are loved.
I BELIEVE we must share that love.
I BELIEVE fear is powerful and scary, but not as powerful as faith and love.
This list is a beginning. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts and my journey. Thank you, Carol! I loved writing about BELIEVE.
Michelle, your last line is a strong reminder to me: I BELIEVE fear is powerful and scary, but not as powerful as faith and love. Sometimes in the middle of the night I wake to a multitude of thoughts that cloud my judgment so I beckon my faith to draw closer and ask for any fears to be swept away. I am leaning on my one word because there bends in my journey that need the sheer power of faith to guide me through. Thank you for your perspective this morning.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! I so enjoyed your uplifting and energizing list.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of an "I Believe..." list. If everyone believed everything on your list, I BELIEVE we'd have a much better world!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your "I Believe" testimony. I especially like that you extended your belief in God's love for you to reminding us that God loves us, too. God bless you, and thanks!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, thank you for this beautiful list. Hugs ARE healing, aren't they? I was reading an article about touch, and how important it is to humans (and other living creatures) at all ages, and most especially as we enter old age, when we aren't touched so often and NEED that touch, for our very health. xo
ReplyDeleteI also like the last the belief. Fear is powerful and scary but not as powerful as faith and love. I also agree with Holly - just think what this world could be like if everyone believed!
ReplyDeleteThese posts have me thinking about my students. Do they know what they believe? I think I'll ask them. You have a long list here. It builds a foundation of strength.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I love your list because I believe in all of those things too. I've always struggled with fear's power to hold me back from achieving my goals, but I'm trying hard this year to have faith and believe in my ability. It's difficult sometimes, but I'm trying. : )
