Celebrating Nostalgia

I have a confession. I am loving the new series, Fuller House, on Netflix. The first season was released last night and I've watched two episodes already. As I was watching it, it brought me back to a simpler time. The world didn't seem so big and scary. The original series began in the late 80s, so I was already in high school headed for college. My world then looked different. This peek back reminds me of that time and brings back good memories.
Is it formulaic? Yup. Is it cheesy? Absolutely! And I am loving every moment of that goofiness and silliness. Here's a quick peek...
There's something about watching this show that makes me laugh and smile and enjoy. Even my sixth grade students were talking about it yesterday too. I can't wait to talk about it with them next week.
I celebrate humor and family and nostalgia. It's true, you can never go home again, but this little trip back is worth the time. Enjoy!
I don't have Netflix but I really want to see this. I loved Full House as a kid. I'll have to see if one of my family members that has it will give me their streaming log in info :)
ReplyDeleteFull House is a very nostalgic thing for me as well. For me, it brings back memories of my daughters watching the syndicated version of the show, as well as the last years of the series in real time. Those memories bring smiles to my face.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to watching!
Sorry, I don't know any of these shows, Michelle, but loved seeing the clip, & glad that you are loving it. Memories are good things to celebrate, and laughing through a show is the best thing! I loved the "reservations" line!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, my daughter, son, mother while she was alive and I loved Full House. We used to watch the show together and laugh. We grew up with the Full House family. Thanks for letting me know that it is on NetFlix. I can't wait to watch it.
ReplyDeleteWe need to bring back more shows from the 80's...back when comedy was comedy. :) (Wait....I sound like my mom here...) I didn't catch this series' return but I've heard great things. Maybe they will bring back my all time favorite -- Home Improvement.
ReplyDeleteFull House was The Brady Bunch for my children. I haven't checked out Fuller House, but it looks like a great way to waste a Saturday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Too fun! Thanks for sharing this flashback and a few giggles.
ReplyDeleteI don't know these shows, Michelle - but the clip was fun, and I can see how it would be a wonderful series to follow.
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic to find those things that bring laughter and smiles.
ReplyDeleteHumor, family, and nostalgia - all things worth celebrating! And it's always fun to share with sixth graders. :)
