Words
They are my food
nourishing me
bringing me life...
Every.
Single.
Day.
What would I do
without my Words?
How would I...
live?
communicate?
love?
My mother
introduced me to
my true love...
Words.
We first met in
books
and continued
our romance in
notebooks.
Words
always know
how I feel
how to soothe me
how to make me laugh.
Words
comfort me
show me the truth
make me better
love me for who I am.
I love you, Words.

Love. Love. Love.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful love letter to words!
ReplyDeleteHow fitting. A letter to words. We are so fortunate to have your words!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I find that a word I want to use escapes my memory. I think it is just a symptom of menopause. I hope it is just menopause! It frightens me to think that I could be without words. What would I do?
ReplyDeleteLoved your post! I have always been fascinated by words.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely ode to words!
ReplyDeleteLoved the title. Favorite part is how words make us better - so true. And our words lift others as well!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, first meeting in books & that romance continuing! I love the way you presented it, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the pace of your poem! And then got a fun surprise at the end! I love the star-full of words!
ReplyDeleteReally neat! I love how talked about how your mom influenced you!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with your poem and how it is written. I also love the star at the end full of words! It's the perfect way to put everything together. :) My mom shared the love of words to me through books when I was little as well. I still remember going to the library with her so often and feeling like it was the largest place on earth!
