Laughter
Thank you to Holly for the opportunity to write and reflect and share my spiritual journey. Today our topic is laughter. Join us here!
I remember when my dad was in the ICU at the hospital, my sister and I started playing around with his cell phone. Changing ring tones. Taking silly selfies (before anyone knew what selfies were)...and the giggles started. My sister is someone with whom I've shared some of the best moments of laughter.
Laughter is healing. I believe that laughter signals that no matter how bad things are, everything will be okay. I'm blessed to share my life with friends who are hilarious! Friends who know when I need them to crack a joke, or point out the irony in a situation.
Laughter is holy. As Anne Lamott says, "Laughter is carbonated holiness." I feel closer to God when I laugh. I don't understand it and I can't really explain it, but it's a feeling of love that surrounds me. I believe that God wants us to be joy-filled and to experience the giggles as much as we can.
Here's some laughter inspiration for you! I hope you enjoy it...
This theme was so perfect for you. I think of laughter and joy when I think of you. I hope we have lots of laughter next week. In between serious writing, of course.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, "Laughter is carbonated holiness." What a fabulous line. I think I will have to start my morning with a fizzy. Love the clips you presented. Laughter is the perfect topic today.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge Anne Lamott fan- she has the most incredible way of saying things doesn't she? And you are so right- laughter is healing.
ReplyDeleteI love the Anne Lamott quote, and your own quote: Laughter is the soundtrack to my life. Even though we've never met in person, you exude joy through your writing and photographs!
ReplyDeleteWe share a lot in our posts today, Michelle. Thanks for the videos. Laughter is certainly healing.
ReplyDeleteI can hear the laughter in your voice through the words you type. Your type of positivity is a true gift and a gem. Thank you for sharing so honestly every week . . . I look forward to reading your thoughts. :)
ReplyDelete"Carbonated holiness" and a "soundtrack," You and Anne Lamont are my heroes in the laughter department! Always love reading your thoughts filled with bubbles that lift you and those around you up!
