A Poem of Slices
As I was reading posts a few days ago, I came across this post titled, Slicing Titles Make a Poem. I was intrigued and immediately I thought this would make a great last day post! Rereading through the titles made me smile. I'd already forgotten some. In my work to create a poem, I tried to keep the titles very true to form. I added three words to the entire poem. For me, the revision was mostly about moving around and making the lines fit together. I had fun revising and creating this poem. Here it is...
Currently…Introverting
Real peek into an ugly moment
From grumpy to grateful
It’s the small things
Like conversations about flamingos and
A day with a friend and lots of chocolate
Am I a writer?
I don’t wanna write
How do I notebook?
Here’s my day in notebook entries
My day in six-word memoirs
We are writers
Words hurt, words heal
The seven writers I’d like to meet
You can blog about it
Why am I teacher?
You teach middle school?!?!
Sixth graders save the day
Sacred words, sacred friends
I can’t keep quiet
Ten years in the blink of an eye
Nostalgia
What’s left?
Reading moments
Tribes
Favorites party
Starting over
Flexible seating
What’s your theme song?

ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm going to tuck this away in my "swipe" file. I always enjoy reading your blog. It has given me the inspiration to call myself a writer and for this I thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I think I will make time to read over my own posts this weekend, as a trip down memory lane. I've so enjoyed slicing with you this month!
ReplyDeleteSeeing all of the topics together really makes me realize the scope of this challenge. It becomes a little journal of our thoughts for this month. Hope you keep slicing so this poem keeps on growing!
ReplyDeleteAmazing...truly amazing. Your titles, through your working to position them just right, formed a meaningful poem! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI tried to do this, but it was hard and I set the attempt aside. Maybe another year. Or maybe a little private post-SOLSC reflection.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another March completed.
Love it! I ended last March this way, and am working on this year's version to post today.
ReplyDeleteI've never done this, but it's a clever idea! I'd love to try it out. Yours is really well done! :)
ReplyDeletePerfect ending to a great month of writing! I never manage to read all the posts I want in March, but I'll be back to catch a few I missed.
ReplyDeleteI played with this idea, but couldn't make it fit together. You, however, have a great poem that flows. No one would ever know that these were titles of posts. Well done, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job, Michelle. It's a challenge to make them make sense, but it feels like you, too, a huge focus on loving writing! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and meaningful way to celebrate a month of writing, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this poem. I think I may have to try it and see what a poem of my slice titles looks like. Happy slicing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way collect and remember this month of writing. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative way to end the month and create a poem!
