Flexible Seating
Writers need
quiet and space
to focus
to think
to write.On Monday
a student
completed project work
and decided to blog.
"Where did she go?"
I asked.
"Has anyone seen her?"
Two other students
pointed
to the back of the room
to the bookcases
and there she was
creating
writing
blogging
Tucked into the
shelves of the library
with her ideas
and her laptop...
Soon
others
joined
Brilliant.
Flexible seating
at it's best!
Thank you to the Two Writing Teachers for this amazing platform to write and share writing! What a wonderful community you've created! I'm honored to be part of it. Join us at Two Writing Teachers.
And great screen placement! The pictures are awesome. I love that they know they are free to do what they need to do.
ReplyDeleteWhen the urge to write hits us, we just have to write. I love how they go into a corner to focus. I often wonder if our big wide open classrooms lead to distraction? We all need to block out the world to see into our hearts!
ReplyDeleteAnd how wonderful is it that you have created an atmosphere that allows them the choice to sit where it best suits their needs. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love how kids can find their spot where we would never think to put them.
ReplyDeleteInnovation at its best! There are times when I would prefer a corner too.
ReplyDeleteOne of the new bloggers I've been reading just asked how others were determining seating. I'll share this with her! Students surprise us, don't they?
ReplyDeleteTime to think ... tucked in with her ideas and laptop ... choice ... learning at its best. What a happy place to be!
ReplyDeletePerfect! Time, space, and quiet to write.
ReplyDeleteindeed! This is pretty cute!
