Celebrating a Goal Achieved!
In March, I was knee deep in the slice of life challenge, when I saw a post on Instagram about #the100dayproject. It was shared by a favorite author of mine, Elle Luna.

I was teaching two different classes, writing blog posts every day, reading and commenting on student blog posts too, and something inside of me nudged me to take on this project.

I started the challenge on April 1st. I completed the challenge and shared my 100th poem yesterday. What did I learn?
- Doing something for 100 days truly built a habit.
- Showing up on days I didn't feel like it, was hard.
- Sharing on days when I knew my poem was bad, humbled me.
- I enjoyed the quiet every day when I wrote.
- I love tap of my typewriter.
- I found confidence every day I showed up to the page.
- Many people enjoyed my poems.
I'd do it again...in a minute. The process was powerful. I learned a lot. I'm grateful that I was able to complete this. On to another challenge...

You technically could do it again and keep a process log. ;)
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading your poems. This is a such a unique challenge, and I have to say, I LOVE your pink typewriter!
Congratulations! I enjoyed reading your poems whenever they showed up on Instagram or facebook feed. I hope you'll continue. It could be 365 day project - you have almost a third done. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! You definitely formed a habit! Such a great way to also be a role model for your students!
ReplyDeleteYeah you! I know I already told you this, but I'm really going to miss your daily poem. We don't want her (does she have a name?) to collect dust. Just a word or quote will do.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, congratulations on accomplishing 100 days of writing, Michelle. What a great idea to use your typewriter to compose. Now, I wish I kept my typewriter but the computer works well for me. As for your poem on listening, it made me pause and think. Listen was one of my early #onewords but I should revisit it again.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What an amazing accomplishment! This makes me want to find you on Instagram to see your project.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed following your journey with your pink typewriter and your words. I can't wait to see what's next?
ReplyDeleteI was drawn to your statement about not writing about the process. I am working on a project that is really touching me emotionally and creatively. I decided today I need to write about the process. Now I have to backtrack about 6 months, but your comment makes me ready to do it. Thanks.
