I Don't Know What to Write About Today
Here it is. March 18th. This post usually comes sooner, for me, in this challenge. It's my "I don't know what to write about" post...or maybe it's my "I don't feel like writing today" post. Either way, here it is.
I'm fighting a headache. I have a lot still left to do on this Sunday afternoon and writing a blog post is not high on my list...yet, here I am.
Show up. Sit down and show up to the page even when there's nothing to say. That's what a writer does...a writer writes. So, here I am...writing...about nothing.

Nothing to say today. Really. Nothing. I keep waiting for a story to pop up or for something to spark so I can delete this and start over, but nothing.
So here it is: my yearly post about nothing. It's kind of like my tribute to Seinfeld, the TV show about nothing. Here's hoping that something happens before tomorrow...

March is the Slice of Life Challenge.
I'll be sharing a post each day in the month of March.
Please join me at Two Writing Teachers to read more slices!
You are an amazing writer so, honestly, I'm kind of glad you have a least one day a year where you write about having nothing about which to write. It is inspiring! :)
ReplyDeleteI always love reading these posts from slicers. It inevitably happens to us all at some point. I love that you said, "so I can delete this and start over," but then nothing came. Nothing is something. :)
ReplyDeleteBut you wrote! And that's what matters. We all get there.
ReplyDeleteInevitable yet as a writer, you still write. Even if it is to write the word n-o-t-h-i-n-g 7 times!
ReplyDeleteI read about this same issue from every writer I follow. They always say the same thing: just write something. We have to remind ourselves that all writing is real writing. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe should track this and see at what point in the month this sort of post becomes the most popular. I feel like we all hit a wall at some point when our ideas start to sound the same and we have run out of creativity (temporarily!) Hope your head feels better tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI've read lots of "I don't know what to write about" posts and don't know why someone hasn't mentioned "Seinfeld" before. That show seems the perfect from for nothingness in the writing life.
ReplyDeleteSomedays are harder to find somehting to write about. I would take it as a win tha tyou have made it this far with out writing your "Nothing" post!
ReplyDeleteMine came later this year than I expected it as well. We got something written - that's what counts!
